David Douglas Militaria Fair - Catterick Garrison

This was the first time David had held one of his fairs at this venue. The venue itself inside is excellent, spacious with good lighting, which is a big improvement on the Scotch Corner venue. The dealers were offering a wide selection of items for sale, it’s very much a 'something for everyone' type of fair. It was a busy day, with a good number of collectors attending. At fairs I normally do 10 laps and have a good look over the collectables. I noticed some quality pieces for sale, Ken from Newcastle had a nice selection of militaria, particularly the SA daggers. Andrew Taylor as always had some high quality pieces of militaria. Arthur Thornton, as always, brought along an excellent selection of reference materials - I never stop to look closely as I would end up parting with hundred of pounds! The selection of medals on offer was also good.

I enjoyed talking to everyone who stopped by at our table and would like to thank those people that bought medals from us as well as those who sold us medals.

I think this fair is going to go from strength to strength. We are looking forward to the next one!

This coming Sunday the 4th March is the Wakefield medal fair (Outwood), for directions please see our ‘fairs’ link. This is a fantastic fair with a lot of very high quality medals on offer. From singles to gallantry, it is well worth a visit for any medal collector.

If you attend stop and say hello.

Adam.
