Rouiger was from York, a Store man by trade. He attested on the 2nd of November 1915 first serving with the RA and then transferring over to the A.O.C. He discharged in the summer of 1916 due to complications from tuberculosis. It was decided that he would no longer make an efficient solider. He was awarded the silver war badge which comes the medals.
