With a cased Royal Society of Arts and Commerce medallion in bronze. The edge impressed Harold George Ellis - Intermediate Examination 1912 Book Keeping. 
 
Harold George Ellis was born in Nottingham on 29th June 1894. He attended Nottingham High School and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. 
 
He served in the OTC at Nottingham University. He was granted a commission on 14th march 1916 and began training as a Cadet. His rank of Second Lieutenant was gazetted on the 28th August 1916, and he was posted to the 19th Bn Notts & Derby Regt. 
 
Lieutenant Ellis served in France for only 13 days; he landed there on 14th September 1916 and was sent home with acute Lumbago. This led to his discharge in May 1917.  
 
 
Harold passed away in 1978.
