Condition GF to NVF, naming not visible in places on LSGC due to contacting and edge bruising. One rivet missing between Alma and Balaklava clasp.

Aged 14 years and 2 months, Stephen Kennedy enlisted in Dublin on the 24th of February 1832, joining the 88th Foot. He served as a Drummer and Private until May 1838 when he transferred to the 17th Lancers.

Kennedy is confirmed as having taken part in the Charge of the Light Brigade. In total he spent 11 months in Turkey and the Crimea. He was discharged on the 23^rd of January 1860 at Canterbury. He had been awarded the LSGC and five Good Conduct Stripes.

Kennedy attended the First Balaklava Banquet on the 25^th of October 1875 and became a member of the Balaklava Commemoration Society.
