Group of four to 25771 Pte F A Scott Grenadier Guards

Francis Alfred Scott was born in Chorlton, Lancashire, in 1892. His father died before he was born, and his mother moved back to live with her family in York shortly after his birth. 

 

Scott was an assistant Dentist in 1911 and living at 20 St Mary Street, Cardigan, Wales. 

 

During the Great War, he served with the Grenadier Guards from 11th April 1916 until 31st January 1918, when he was discharged, having been shot in the head. 

 

He recovered and resumed his career, and by 1939 he was living at Queen's Gate in Kensington. He served in the Special Constabulary and as an ARP Warden.

 

 Francis passed away in Newton Abbott in 1968.
