Andrew Barclay was born in 1894, he joined the 6^th Bn Manchester Regiment on the 28^th of September 1914. Giving his occupation as Commercial Traveller.

He landed in Egypt on the 2^nd of August 1915, transferred to the Royal Engineers and served as a signaller. Barclay survived the war and was discharged in 1919 in Scotland.
