Andrew Barclay was born in 1894, he joined the 6th Bn Manchester Regiment on the 28th of September 1914. Giving his occupation as Commercial Traveller.

He landed in Egypt on the 2nd of August 1915, transferred to the Royal Engineers and served as a signaller. Barclay survived the war and was discharged in 1919 in Scotland.
