Mo.16984 J.C.C. RIPLEY B.R.A. 3.R.N
John Charles Clifford Ripley was born in Wakefield in 1895, at the time of the 1911 census he was living and working in Doncaster as a Boiler maker’s apprentice.
Ripley was entitled to a 1914/15 trio, but sadly didn’t live to receive it. He died of disease on the 27th of November 1918 while a crew member of HMS Curacoa. Charles was buried in Doncaster Cemetery, Hyde Park, Doncaster,Yorks. A photograph can be found of him on ancestry, a copy of which is included with the medal.
The rim of the medal has been cleaned over the Rip in Ripley by a previous collector.
