Peter Smith Cole, in 1910 in Kings Langley, he joined the Royal Artillery on 28th August 1928. 
 
He served in India and was awarded an Indian General Service Medal with clasps North West Frontier 1936-37 and North West Frontier 1937 - 39.
 
During the Second World War, Cole served with the 4 Field Regiment RA, rising to the rank of Warrant Officer II, before being commissioned in 1942.
 
He was Mentioned in Despatches for service in the Middle East, which was announced in the London Gazette on the 13th January 1944.
 
Peter survived the war and served in the army until 1st April 1958, retiring as a Major Quartermaster.
